Last week, at a birthday party for one of the cousins, my son discovered the fun that is a freestanding indoor basketball hoop. He played made up games with his cousins for the last 30 minutes we were at their house, and on the way home, he informed me that he wanted one. Since we are trying to keep large toys at a minimum, I told him we would see what we could do.
I ended up spending $3 at Five Below to buy the net, but the rest was stuff I already had in the garage:
If our driveway were more functional, I would have preferred an outdoor hoop, but at least this one can be used regardless of the weather. We are going to sign him up for a basketball class this winter, so he can learn the real game, but at least he enjoys playing his made up games on this one!
Zan starts his first basketball class this Saturday. We signed him up for a “season” at i9 sports. We shall see how much he really likes it.
